Try the 60-pair art preference quiz
How the art preference quiz works
Choose the artworks you prefer
CAC Art Lab shows 60 pairs of artworks from a supplied dataset. For each pair, choose A or B based on your own preference. There is no right or wrong answer. The images come from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Open Access collection.
Compare your choices with AI
After each choice, the quiz shows the supplied AI judges' weighted preference and a supplied feature model's prediction for that pair. These are existing results in the dataset; the site does not call an AI model while you play.
The agreement rates count how often your choice matches each AI preference. A tie is left out of that comparison. Agreement is about similarity of preferences, not a score for artistic quality.
Read the feature differences
For each pair, the quiz highlights three measured image features with the largest scaled differences. A higher feature value does not make one artwork more beautiful, and a difference does not explain why an AI model chose it.
Finish and review
The final page compares your full round with the AI judges and the feature model, then revisits up to three pairs where your preference differed most from the judges. Your progress is saved in this browser so you can return to the same round. Restart round clears that saved round.
